Included with Leopard, the latest version of Mac OS X, are several new screen savers, one of which is a new effect for the standard “display your photos” screen saver. - Meow

Well, it’s been a little over three weeks since my last proper update so I’ve forced myself at fingers-looking-like-a-gun point to write another. - A mild annoyance

I’m still loving the MacBook and have set about having fun with Proxi, as you can see from the previous entry, but I have come across something slightly annoying. - The flying Ninja against a red Sun

Whilst considering my data integrity strategy I realised I needed a way of storing all my bits of data that can’t be easily saved — stuff like passwords for websites, email receipts, credit card numbers etc. - This is going to take a while …

I’ve finally started encoding my DVDs onto my iMac so I can watch stuff in bed with the power of Front Row and AirClick and what better place to start than with my favourite films of the moment: The Lord of the Rings trilogy. - Flying Windows

Or I should say “Fenêtres Volantes”, which is a groovy screen saver. Any guesses what it does? - Screen savers

I’ve never really been one for screen savers — when I had a Windows box I just used to set it so the screen would turn off after 5 minutes. That was until I borrowed Tugger’s iMac (one of the originals) and saw Bliss. - DeliciWeb

You may have read about my love for Delicious Library in the past and now I’m mildly pleased to say I can share that love. Or, to put it another way, I can export my library for you all to peruse thanks to DeliciWeb. - “Agua” icon set

I’m a sucker for changing the icons on my iMac - I find a set I like, install them and then get bored after about a fortnight and change them to something else. This set by David Lanham, however, has been on my desktop for at least two months. - Stattoo

This is another excellent application from Panic. - photo Drop

photo Drop is one of those applications that you look at, use and then begin wondering how you ever managed without it. It’s one hell of a handy little gadget. - Delicious Library

I bought Delicious Library the day it was released … whenever that was - last year I think. I tinkered with it for a bit but then got bored of manually entering all my DVDs, CDs and books. - “Minium” icon set

I’ve gone and changed my iMac’s icons again and this time I’ve used a really nice set named “Minium”. - CoverFlow

I’ve just read about CoverFlow over on The Tao of Mac. - By the Dashboard light

I was thinking about Dashboard the other day and how little I use it - when I first heard about it I imagined having several thousand widgets running in the background, sapping all my iMac’s CPU cycles. - Trying to use a smart folder

I don’t have much that I need to save in order to make my life worth carrying on with should my hard drive die; currently I back up about two and a half gigabytes of data to a DVD-RW once a week. There are more than a few smallish files that could do with being saved daily so I decided to try and copy them to my iDisk with as little of my interaction as possible - I thought using a smart folder would be the key. - The demise of iSync?

I may have missed a memo or post on a Mac forum or news site, but it seems to me that poor old iSync is slowly being phased out. - Use MSN, Yahoo! or ICQ in iChat 3

I’ve got quite a few contacts who I chat to via MSN and a few via iChat who are either using a Mac or are on AIM and I wanted to be able to use just one application to talk to any and all of them. - Mac OS X 10.4 “Tiger”

My copy of Tiger finally arrived; one faultless “Archive and install” later and I’m swimming in it’s goodness. - Waiting for the tiger

I find myself waiting for Apple’s next major OS X update like a child desperately trying to get to sleep so Christmas morning will arrive quicker. - “iDrives” icon set

It’s not often I consider changing my system icons because I really like the standard Aqua style, but these drive icons are quite a nice alternative - different but still similar enough to fit in without me having to change the rest to match. - MenuCalendarClock

I registered this excellent little app after using it for less than a week - it just so happened that it was a busy week for me and the reminders and notes this app provided me with helped me to stay on track. - Bloody adverts!

I don’t minds adverts in a newspaper. I don’t mind adverts between TV programmes. I even don’t mind adverts on a website. I do, however, mind adverts when they appear slap-bang in the middle of work I’m trying to do. - BurnoutMenu 2.0

I am forever thinking of things I need to do before a certain time or date and then completely forgetting to do so. I’ve always needed to create a list of things that need doing to keep myself on track and after reading many of the comments on ‘What’s in your menubar?’ in the hicksdesign journal I found what seems to be the ideal app for me: BurnoutMenu. - Screen shots
