- A crip and his iPhone and How To Make Your Own Ringtones

I finally succumbed to temptation and bought myself an iPhone and it seems that all my worrying about my hands and not being able to use it properly was almost entirely unnecessary. I thought about it a lot beforehand and ended up trusting that I have a knack for developing little tricks and methods of getting things done albeit in an unusual way. As… - Call me Mr. Indecisive

Well, thankfully 2007’s out of the way and we can all get on with making 2008 a decent year. I only have one rule for everyone this year: no-one is allowed to die. Seriously. If anyone I care about dies during 2008 then I’ll fucking kill them. - The jury is in

The weekend in Southampton was great and, as hoped, Tugger let me get my grubby fingers on his iPhone whenever I whined and pleaded. - I *really* want an iPhone

Well, it’s been a little over three weeks since my last proper update so I’ve forced myself at fingers-looking-like-a-gun point to write another. - A kettle! A DVD! A CD!

I mentioned briefly in my previous entry that I’d ordered myself a MacBook. Well, it’s finally arrived (about a week and a half after ordering) and I’ve spent the last three or four days trying it out and generally having some geek fun. - Apple’s new goodies

I don’t like cold weather. At all. Sure, it’s nice to look at: the clear skies, the frost on the glass, the children sliding to school … but that’s about it: it’s nice to look at! - “Every hard drive will fail at some point in its life”

I had two hard drives connected to my iMac — an 80Gb internal and a 250Gb external (via FireWire) — and yesterday my internal one died - one minute it was working fine, then it started making a noise and then about 30 seconds later it died. - Click! Click! Clunk. Er …

I got my AirClick the same time that I got my PowerMate but have only just remembered that I was going to write a bit about it. Better late than never, eh? - Time to get up … erm … help? (UPDATED)

It has been just over three months since I took delivery of my all-singing-all-dancing-super-Ninja-shit-kicking bed … and now it’s broken. Bollocks. - I am a happy geek

The other day I installed the Mac OS X 10.4.6 update and, as usual, didn’t pay a blind bit of notice to what it was actually fixing or updating, so it wasn’t until I saw a picture on Flickr that I realised that they’d added a load more phones to iSync support list, including my Nokia 6021. - Griffin PowerMate

When N told me that she couldn’t think of a suitable present for my birthday, she suggested I buy something myself and she’d give me the money to pay for it, so I ordered a Griffin PowerMate. - Rotoflex-o-rama!

I’ve mentioned my new bed on more than one occasion on here (what do you mean I haven’t shut up about it?) so I thought it was time to take a few pictures to show you its loveliness. Unfortunately, because of its size and where it is in my room (i.e. the middle) I couldn’t get back far enough to get it all in one frame, and my attempts at a panoramic shot failed miserably. So, what’s a man to do? Why, of course: video it! - My second night …

Whilst I was laid up in hospital, being waited on hand and foot by many lovely nurses (it’s a hard life …), I realised how much I missed being able to tinker with my computer. This came as no shock to me as someone who, given the chance, would spend far more time than is healthy on my iMac every day I could. - I’m smiling again

Very soon after getting my iPod it became painfully obvious that, whilst the Apple-supplied earphones sounded good, they were bloody uncomfortable and had a habit of falling out of my ear now and then. I put up with it for a couple of months but in the end it became far too annoying to continue with. - “You might feel a bit of a prick … “

I’ve had a SonyEricsson Z600 for nearly a year now and I’m bored with it. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a nice enough ‘phone, it’s just that my needs have changed since I got it. It’s got most of the usual features of a modern phone - camera, colour screen, polyphonic ringtones etc. - but I yearn for something simpler. - Hi-fi

I like to think of myself as a hi-fi enthusiast - don’t get me wrong, I’m not some kind of nerd who’ll waffle on for hours about tweeters, woofers and valve amps, I just like a good sound. - “We must destroy the doctor!”

I was thinking the other day about the different equipment I own and use to make my life easier. It was prompted by me having the four batteries in my two tracking hoists replaced, batteries which can usually be bought for around 8GBP each but which cost the company who replaced them 90GBP and cost the housing company 500GBP to have them fitted! - Me and my iPod
