The Mitre Oak  3

I was trying to decide whether to write this entry and then I got an email from mum which said: “Why haven’t you written up our exciting lunch on Sunday? I told everyone how super it was to walk in alongside you and at the same height too.” So, here we go …

Me, the carer and my mum went out to lunch on Sunday to (you’ve guessed it) The Mitre Oak, a pub about six miles from my house. The food was nothing special but, as mum said, it was great to be able to go out with her and the carer with the minimum of fuss.

I didn’t get any photos unfortunately (I was too busy enjoying my Pimms and lemonade) which is a shame because the waitress was … (how to say this without sounding like a pervert) … very pleasing to the eye.

Mum graciously paid for the meal so I left a tip. When the carer asked why I was leaving as much as I did when I myself had said that the food was nothing special, I replied with the only answer she’d believe: “Because the waitress was a fox!” Yes, I’m that shallow.

In other news, the carer and some friends returned to the HobbyCraft branch in Webbs today and she bought me a fridge magnet that is perfect for me:

I think that fridge magnet would some me up too - i hate mornings! Having said that I was at work at 6:50am on tuesday - I had no choice otherwise I would much rather be in bed. It’s great to hear that your mum is seeing the benefits of being able to walk into the mitre oak (amongst other places) at the same height as you And about that waitress - if you happen to pop in for a swift half I think you need to get a photo so we can fully appreciate your reasoning for giving such a tip…… - stonysleep

I bought two of those fridge magnets just two days ago! I can’t show you what they are, as they’re for someone’s birthday. Maybe later… - Diddums

I’ve been to the Mitre Oak quite a few times over the years, and you’re right - it’s a good pub, and they employ quite a few hotties if my memory serves me right! - andyk
